Help and Advice - Chicken Hospital

There's NEVER a vet open when you need one so here's a list of what I have in Chicken Hospital at any one time and what I use it for.

Baytril - Wonder drug for chickens. Prescription only. Find a vet and get some in your fridge for emergencies.

Herban - great for general health and won't mess up your organic status. Obtain from the internet and feed in water once a week

Bioyoghurt - occasional treat, but essential for after Baytril or when raising chicks

Sweetcorn - great for hiding tablet form medication inside individual kernel

Lamb Drench - basically a tube feeder for when chickens won't feed themselves or for sucking out sourcrop as a quick and easy alternative to making your chicken vomit (see separate post)

Needles and syringes - for delivering medication directly to the chicken orally. Available farm shops or your vet

Septicleanse - bright purple spray containing broad spectrum antiseptic, antibiotic, antibacterial, essential for disguising blood to prevent pecking

Licepowder - essential to stop outbreaks which get out of hand really quickly

Rubber gloves and Vaseline - I've never had an egg bound hen yet, but I have had to check and it's way better to do it wearing gloves.

A second pair of hands - there are just some things you can't do by yourself
